FogTech - Technical Data Sheet

Product Name: FogTech® advanced anti-fog is a U.S. patent pending topical anti-fog chemical mixture.

Product Description: FogTech® is a fast evaporating liquid that is applied to plastic or glass optics. Once the carriers evaporate, a thin transparent layer of silicone based surfactants remain on the optics. Use: Typically FogTech® is used to absorb the moisture from the air or the person that would in the right conditions be deposited onto optics as a fog or a mist. This mist would normally obscure vision resulting in unsafe conditions. FogTech® surfactants absorb this moisture and spread it so that vision is unimpaired.

Chemical Reactions: None at ambient temperatures. See MSDS for complete data.

Restrictions: FogTech® must be kept tightly sealed to prevent evaporation. Avoid exposure to long periods of strong sunlight. Avoid soaking PMMA plastic (Plexiglas®) for long periods in FogTech® liquid as etching may occur. FogTech® contains silicones so avoid applying around surfaces that are to be painted or coated. Avoid applying or opening product container near high voltage Pyrotronics smoke/fire detector model F-3/5a as evaporating carriers can cause a false alarm. (OK to use near detectors after coating dries, approximately 10 to 30 seconds after application.) If concentrated surfactants enter eyes, some short term reversible dimming of sight may occur. Flush with water to remove.

Application Techniques: FogTech® is wiped onto glass or plastic optics using a soft applicator. The product dries clear. Approximately .75 grams of FogTech® is required to coat a set of goggles.

Containers: As of November 1, 2005 FogTech® is sold in individual use packets each containing 2-3 grams of liquid, a "1 fluid ounce" plastic bottle containing 50 grams (30 ml.) of product, and larger sizes for bulk applications on request.

Availability: Sold directly and indirectly throughout the world.
